Artist Regina

Regina Zimmermann is a wildlife artist using various mediums including acrylics, watercolour, graphite, wooden sculptures and the list goes on. She sells her African Art online and directly to private buyers, guest lodges, wine estates and indirectly through interior designers.

Born in Stuttgart, Germany, Regina’s artistic side began with classes in fine art at The Fashion School in Stuttgart of the 'Landesgewerbeamt'. After working in Design in the sportswear fashion industry for 9 years, Regina’s passion for wildlife was awakened by some game drives in the bush whilst on holiday in South Africa. In 2005 she took the step with her husband Axel, to immigrate to Cape Town.

Regina feels an animal’s beauty lies in the detail, its spirit, in the eyes – the focal point of all her paintings and recent wood carving sculptures show this clearly.

The beautiful belts, bags, hats and decorative pillow cases designed with creative flair by Regina are made from various materials off-cuts and finished with delightfully quirky details and African flair. Regina is not only passionate about showing people globally the beauty that Africa has to offer through her African Art but also making the most out of materials and turning them into gorgeous African accessories. She truly wants as much of Africa Wildlife to be treasured in art through animal paintings, sculptures and her accessories.

Our inability to think beyond our own species, or to be able to co-habit with other life forms in what is patently a massive collaborative quest for survival, is surely a malady that pervades the human soul. There is more to life than just yourself, your own family, and your own kind. I just want to hold together the values that are important to us as human beings. The name of the game is to survive, and we can't survive without the plant and animal kingdoms.
